Hadleigh Beauty Hut
Hadleigh beauty hut began in 2014 whilst Jess was on maternity leave with her daughter. Jess’ occupation at the time was a dental nurse of 12 Years. She had found a passion for eyelash extensions and decided to undertake the training and become qualified to see clients. Jess started her flourishing business and soon realised that she'd fallen in love with the beauty industry, so decided to become a fully qualified beauty therapist. At this time Jess’ maternity leave had ended, and she had returned to her main job as a dental nurse. Whilst continuing to work, Jess pursued her beauty therapy training in the evenings, which continued on for over a year, gaining her full qualifications in 2016. Whilst juggling two Jobs, a one year old and her family Jess decided to take the leap and finish her dental nursing work and concentrate on her own beauty business from a summer house in her garden, working around her family. The garden hut was a beautiful, large, smartly decorated treatment space for Jess to work from – ‘Hadleigh Beauty Hut’ was founded!

Michaela has had a passion for beauty therapy from a young age and knew this was the career path she wanted to move onto straight from finishing high school. She attended ‘Suffolk College’ and gained full qualifications NVQ levels 2 & 3 in 2002. Michaela gained experience working in local salons, but whilst living in a small countryside market town, Michaela was lucky to find a therapist position in a well established local salon where she continued to work for roughly 12-13 years gaining great experience, further treatment qualifications and for the most part as Senior Therapist. Michaela is married with four boys of her own, so working alongside a busy family became a small struggle and she decided she wanted to be able to choose the freedom in her career after her maternity leave finished with her second youngest son. Michaela took the time to decide where she wanted her career to take her, whether is was self-employed, mobile, a spa, or another salon. Michaela decided being self-employed was the best way for her and her family and was able to use a spare room in her parents’ house for treatments and transformed it into a beautiful salon room to work from. Here 'Beauty by Michaela' was created.

By 2018 Jess’ Hadleigh Beauty Hut business became successful very quickly, and after 2 years of working from the summer house, she decided that working from home was in one way very handy, but also felt like she never left the house. Jess decided to start looking for another premises to create a treatment space from. The old bakery became available in Long Bessels, a small unit for one treatment room which she decided was perfect and started to get it ready.

At this time also, Michaela had ambitions to take her business further but felt like her treatment room was not going to be able to give her that ability so was also pursuing different premises. Fate would have it a call from Jess about the possibility of working in her new treatment room could not have come at a better time.

A few meetings, phone calls, visits later and , as they say, the rest is history.

Having known each other for many years already, Michaela and Jess found out very quickly they worked amazingly well alongside each other, very much on the same page of ideas, decoration and professionalism that it didn’t take them long to know they wanted to work together. A brilliant partnership was born and Michaela joined Jess in her Hadleigh Beauty Hut journey as Co-Owners together. With all the ideas they had together, their ambitions for what they both wanted to create got the better of them and they decided to take over the whole building instead of just the one initial room.

Their salon premises on Long Bessels needed extensive renovation to become the beautiful salon that they both desired. Many months of hard work by themselves and their families later, they have the beautiful salon that you all now know. They continue to make improvements all the time to make sure it is the best salon they can give you. From the first idea of one room, it has now become a beautiful salon of three treatment rooms, two nail stations, and a hair salon.

Jess is very proud to say that she has an amazing business partner Michaela, a lovely family, including her now 6 year old daughter, a lovely team and beautiful salon. All within 6 years from the start of her business. It's been an emotional roller coaster for her, but also one of best things that's happened to her.

Michaela is absolutely thrilled to have found an amazing business partner in Jess also. With a very busy household, with her boys now 19, 14, 8 & 17 months old, its been a crazy few years but she would not change a thing. The salon they have created, the wonderful team they have, mean the world to her and she now absolutely loves to go to work to see all the amazing clients they have found along the journey.
